RELIGION
Griffydam has one of the country's earliest Methodist Chapels, built in 1778. It also has a Wesleyan Reform Church known as the 'Chapel in the Valley' which opened in 1858 following the formation of the Wesleyan Reform Society in 1849.

The Wesleyan Methodist Chapel looking down Elder Lane. On the far right of the photo you can just see the end of a building in the Chapel grounds which was once the caretakers cottage. Both originally built by William Garner.
